Commemorate Things About Jesus

Are you familiar with the word lent? What are the things that happens during Lenten season? What are the changes in celebrating Lenten season during this pandemic?

For Christian, lent is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter. This is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebration of Easter. Lent is marked by fasting; both from food and festivities, prayer and self-denial. By observing the 40 days of lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.

Western churches start lent on the 7th Wednesday before Easter Day called Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is the day of penitence to clean the soul before the lent fast. After the day of penitence is the day of the last supper called Maundy Thursday also called Holy Thursday. Maundy Thursday is also the beginning of the three day celebration of Easter.

The next day will be Good Friday - this day commemorates Jesus Christ passion, crucifixion and death. Many people celebrate the anniversary of Jesus Christ's crucifixion and death on the Friday before Easter Sunday. Next will be the Holy Saturday. Holy Saturday commemorates the day that Jesus Christ lay in the tomb after his death. And the last day is the Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday. Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

However, due to the pandemic, last year and this year Easter celebrated differently. Instead of going to church that we used to do during Easter, we stayed at our home and celebrated the Easter safely. Hope that this challenges that we are facing right now will end soon so that we can do the things that we use to do.

Month Of The Queens

March 1, marked the beginning of the month-long celebration of National Women's Month. For 2021, the theme is "We Make Change Work for Women". This is the annual theme for a few years, from 2017 to 2022. National Women's Month is the celebration that aims to highlight the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development.

Due to the pandemic, this year's celebration of National Women's Month is different from the previous ones. This pandemic posed both challenges and opportunities for women. This year's observance of National Women's Month highlights women's participation in battling the pandemic and also discusses the one of the most popular issue in our country and this is the gender issues. Many women's achievements have been given an even greater platform these days, but it's important to note that there's still a long way to go to achieve equality. Spread equality to make our world a better and peaceful place to live.

National Women's celebration is a big opportunity to achieve gender equality. Stop discrimination and judgment. It's time to show respect to all women. Also, it's time to stand up and walk another step and lead others to the better world. To all my fellow ladies out there! Always remember that your are beautiful and worth it! You go girl!
